Camp Neofa

Someday I plan to have pictures on this page. Pictures of the camp itself, and pictures of the many people I have met in my time at Camp Neofa. This page is designed to let everyone know about this camp, and hopefully get more people to understand how something like a summer camp can change a persons life. Most of who I am today is directly linked to the times I had a Camp Neofa.

Camp Neofa is a camp run by The Northeast Oddfellows Association. They are a world wide organization. Its located in a small town in central Maine called Montville Maine. The camp itself is open every summer for about one month. Children ages 8-16 can attend 1-2 week sessions. I started as a camper when I was 11. The one week I spent there every summer was a place where I learned that I could be someone important. The friendships I made there lasted all year. It was a place where it did not matter who you were all year long. Many lasting friendships were made there. Many of those friendships still continue today.

Of all those friends I have kept up with through the years, I have seen most of the people become something important in life. I can't help but think that Camp Neofa had some direct cause to the sucess that most of us who attended have seen. Below are some of the friends that I still keep in touch with today, and what they have done with thier lives. I will let you(the reader of this page) make your own decision on how sucessful these people have become. I have also included a description of these people. If any of you are listed below its because you are what I call a true friend. I love ya all very much. Thanks for the best years of my life!!!

They are not listed in any particular order

Jodie Byers

camp co-director - waterfront director
Last I heard Jodie had gotten her early childhood development degree. She had moved to Alaska at one point, but has returned to New Hampshire. I am sure she is working a great job there. She was at one time the assistant director of Camp Neofa. And she was a camper back when I was a camper. We were both councelors together for many years before both of us found different directions in life. Very good person, but more importantly, very good friend. Jodie- "I will never forget the time you helped me get back to Maine. You know what I mean. :)"

Shayne Wright

sports and games director - night program
Shayne was working in a factory the last I heard. I am sure she has made management by now She has a great heart. And had a way of getting the kids attention. She was the best at picking out the music for the night Dances. The kids trusted her very much, and when they had problems, she was the first they came to. Shayne- "I will never forget our Dances. You are truely 'the inspiration'."

Brett Dennis

music Director
Brett had a way of getting the campers to sit down and relax. I can still hear is music to this day. One of the most mellow people I have ever met in life. I heard that some of his music was supposed to be in a TV movie. I have also heard that at one point MTV was considering him for a spot on real world. Brett had a very good sence of humor. Brett- "thanks for the pranks, you always kept me on my toes!"

Cherilee Budrick a.k.a (Keech)

waterfront - lifeguard
Keech was an news anchor on a TV station in Northern Maine last I heard. We kinda lost contact over the years. She was a very sweet person and a good role model for the girl campers. Keech- "You know its no surprise I had a crush on you."
